Project
The Monument is located on the Northern half of the Island of Tinian. More specifically,
at the intersection of 86th. Street & 8th. Ave. Since Tinian is about the same size and shape as Manhattan, they named all the streets the same as Manhattan.
This is the brass plaque with a map of Tinian, as built
by the 107th. and other NCBs showing the roads and buildings
The 107th and other Construction Battalions were sent to Tinian for one purpose, to build the largest Army Air Force Field in the world.
They succeeded!
